Junbin Gao is a Ph.D. student in Liu Lab for Genomic Data Science at NUS, supervised by Professor Boxiang Liu. He got his master's degree in the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, advised by Professor Zhigang Zeng (FIEEE). Prior to his master's degree, he received his bachelor's degree in Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation from Northeastern University.

During his master's degree, he did an internship at Microsoft Research Asia for six months, his main research direction was object detection (2D & 3D) and deep learning. Currently, his main interest lies in AI for genomics, particularly in the areas of spatial transcriptome and single-cell RNA-seq.
